Does the JAP Neo Geo CD output NTSC 3.58?

As in title, I'm looking to get a JAP GC (I will get an RGB lead later).

I've heard that there are two NTSC standards, so I was just wondering if a Japanese Neo Geo CD and a Japanese Gamecube put out the same signal via composite? as then a Jap GC should work with the normal leads right? so I dont have to shell out for an RGB cable just yet

you'll get colour thru composite on your gc , only if your tv can accept an ntsc 3.58 signal otherwise an rgb cable will work.

the other ntsc 4.43 thats to do with playing video tapes and stuff on pal tvs.

How was your Neo Geo hooked up. S-Vid, composite, RGB etc?
