    Scart Switcher.

Hi just wondered if anyone has one of these :

thats a jvc 5 way scart switcher incase its not obvious.

is it fully wired? and is the cable that goes from it to the tv decent quality?

argos do a 5 way scart switcher but the cable coming off it looks low quality to me.

    anyway cheers.

buy the argos one that doesnt come with a scart lead, then buy a nice ixos or similar scart for that to the tv, many people on here swear by them (argos swithcer that is, not the ixos, im the only one that swears by them )

I got one that looked like that from Dixons last year, and it was just a splitter, not a switcher (i.e. just merged all the SCART sockets together). This gives **** picture quality, avoid it.

The argos one is great though.

          oh right, that sucks then.

does anyone do a 5 way switcher that doesnt have a built in out cable then? i much prefer to use my own cables rather whatever crappy unshielded pos the manufacturer deems worth using.

Aye. I have 2 of those Argos ones linked with an IXOS and to the telly with a QED. I can't see any loss in quality, tbh.

I've got two of the Argos ones as well. Using IXOS cables to connect. No loss in picture quality here. When i first bought one i was quite surprised how good they were, especially as they only cost a tenner.

Yup got the Argos one here as well. Works fine nice clear picture but the scart lead I have is a ?4 Woolies jobby will the IXOS make it any better?

I also had one of those dixons 5 way splitters, awful ft:

I found it made quite a difference. I was using a 10 quid cable I had off eBay and noticed a hike in picture quality when using the IXOS/QED cables.

so no-one does a decent 5way switcher? preferably with an "out" socket rather than a pre-attached cable.

i'd rather not daisy chain 3port ones on account of its more buttons to press

                      What are IXOS/QED cables?

                        IXOS

                        QED

                        Quality interconnects.

Keene do a remote compatible (so no need to press any switches) 4 way scart switcher that includs a 2 way optical switcher. You can daisy chain a second one to give you 7 inputs, two outputs and four optical inputs:

Only problem is the price - ?150 for a single one, ?250 for two. It is meant to be much better quality than the argos one, but I've never had a problem with mine.

Plus you still have to get up and turn your console on, put the disk in and pickup the controller so it don't save you alot.
