Noob monitor question

Hi guys, probably (surely) a stupid question for you but what the hell!
I'm currently using a 19" widescreen LCD as a monitor and would like to know if I can use it safely in a vertical (portrait) position. I have seen others do this with expensive swivel stand monitors but wanted to know whether there was anything intrinsically different about the screen besides the stand.

You certainly cannot damage an LCD by using it vertically, so if you van manage to stand your up vertically, go for it.

The only problem is the viewing angle. If the panel is low quality using it in a different position than the standard landscape could make the image almost unbearable.
As pure damage, no, the liquid crystals won't pour out your monitor
