    Asian PS2

Basically, I want a Jp PS2 to play Winning Eleven 7, but I've seen this http://www.play-asia.com/paos-13-700ed018.html which is Asian, cheaper and doesn't need a stepdown.

Does it output 60hz NTSC or does it simply run jp games at 50hz?

    Thanks,
    Matt

it's a Japanese machine with a 220-240 v power supply. So you can just plug it directly to the mains.

It will play only JPN games at 60hz

I am not a big fan of PS2, but how much better is to have an asian PS2 compared to nasty PAL PS2. I probably will consider to get it for Gran Turismo 4, Winning Eleven and any decent shoot them up.

I would prefer to get GC version of Winning Eleven 7 but I think it is unlikely to happens. I don't know if it worth getting the game and Asian PS2 or stick with GC W11 6FE.

Until the game is out, there is no way to ascertain the hard facts about whats in WE7 but heres the jist of what's likely to be in it:

            - Newer animation
            - Multi-Tap compatible
            - Official licenses for A.C. Milan, Roma, Lazio and Parma, which means real names, badges and kits
            - 360? Spin Move is done by rotating right-analogue stick 360?
            - More tricks available to the player
            - Manual passing now requires R3 (right-analogue stick) to be held in
            - Players tend to use their stronger foot much more often when shooting, instead of weaker foot
            - Referees will sometimes play the advantage. 'Home' and 'Away' can effect refereeing/offside decisions.
            - New functions in edit mode, including many more kit designs, tight/loose fitting, etc
            - Real names for Korean players
            - No more 'Oranges' for the Dutch players, instead 'fake' names will be used
            - Unlock bonuses in the "WE Shop" by winning tournaments, like more player edits, 'tricolore' football.
            - New injuries, which can result in bandages being applied
            - Player hair can move in-game
            - Now possible to get more than 3 players sent off
            - 20 stadia, with new elements involving spectators
            - New stadia: Stamford Bridge, Stadio Delle Alpi, Stadio Olympico, Sapporo Dome, Anfield
            - New Master League format, the 'WEFA Champions' League':
            - 64 club teams, divided into 4 categories
            - Player search function included

Rumour has it, that you can buy an item in the WE shop that will let you 'freely transfer' players in and out of International and club teams. So no more 'base copying' anymore. Pretty handy since WE7 seems have the 2002/2003 rosters where Beckham is still at Man Utd, Kewell at Leeds etc and numerous other summer transfers.
