As I said in the PGR4 thread yesterday, MS are probably pissed off that people are getting their games much cheaper than they sell them in the US/Europe. They've probably leant on PA to stop.
Well Mass Effect is an MS game & normally its the Japan/Asia versions that are the cheapest with PA.

Eh? That's what I was saying.

Well at least Yesasia still seem to be shipping them at the moment.

I just hope this isn't the beginning of the end. At last consoles are really import friendly and then import games become hard to buy. Its enough to make you want to turn to gardening as a hobby.

At least they still ship consoles. I hope they'll keep this policy until I finally decide to by one.

Let me re-phrase what I said: it's normally the region free Jap/Asia versions of games that are cheaper than the region free USA versions by about £5-£7 so you would obviously choose the cheapest, but unfortunatley this wont be possible now.
If Mass Effect (MS in house) is region free I'll have to buy the USA version which will be more expensive & when you add the cost of postage to it then you might aswell buy a PAL version from the UK.
I just checked PA to find that Mass Effect Asia is £10 cheaper than the USA version.

I assume you mean Jap/Asia consoles?
If so then what would be the point of buying one if you're not allowed to buy Jap/Asia specific (& cheaper) games?

Not necessarily though. Personally I prefer to spend a few more quid and get it ASAP but that's just me. Particularly when it comes to something like ME where I'm almost literally bursting to play it.

Yup, Japanese consoles. I already have some jap games waiting to be played and I don't see many titles in the wild that really interest me for the X360 and probably all interesting (for me) US titles will be region free, right now a ban of JPN games doesn't (and probably won't) really affect me, consoles will.

As well as hoping for an English language Asian version of Eternal Sonata/Trusty Bell, I now have to pray I'll be able to order a copy if it does appear. It seemed such a good idea to get an Asian 360 a year or so ago ...

this 'ban' only applies to Halo 3 and PGR4 and the chances are that it will be lifted very soon ... appears that PA are getting a bit of heat about them which I find shocking considering that Argos, Tesco etc etc broke the UK street dates by close to a week and nothing happened to them

I pre-ordered COD4 Asia & just got an email from PA stating the following:

'We regret to inform you that one or more items of your recently placed have been become unavailable and removed from your order.'

I hope it was the candy that I added in order to use my $5 off coupon thats now unavailable. If it is the candy I'll still have to cancel & re-order in order to use the coupon again.
I've emailed PA to find out whats been cancelled.

Perhaps they should remove the "playable in which regions" info from their site and put it on a separate blog under a different name/umbrella that they just link to. It's far too helpful on their site and makes it an easy target for future clampdowns by MS.
