the best way to view 360 games is to buy a 720p tv. All the pixels are mapped 1:1 so theres no rescaling. A games native res being 720p which is scaled up to 1080p can only degrade the signal.

Having said that, some ps3/360 games have odd native resolutions which are then upscaled in the console before being outputted. So you will never achieve 1:1 pixel mapping. Ninja Gaiden Sigma uses fake 1080p (960x1080 upscaled), Halo 3 uses fake 720p (dunno the exact numbers - bungie said so themselves). Which explains the slight blurriness (aa notice in H3).

If you are only interested in games and not films, 720p is the way to go.

    here is a cheap 1280x720 8ms tv:

Beware of tv's which are 13..x768. Sellers list them as 720p when they're not (close but still some scaling going on).

I have a question. What's the difference between Standard, Intermediate and Expanded settings in the display settings?

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-32S2530 with my 360 hooked up via VGA. What's best for me, if any?

I've got the S2030 (slightly older model) and have mine set to Advanced. It adjusts the RGB levels that the 360 outputs at (I'm sure someone more knowledgable than me can explain it better!).

Most people felt before this option became available that the VGA signal was too "washed out" - I agreed - but with the extra options you can get rid of this and make colours richer and blacks darker. At the end of the day you're best picking what you feel looks the best.
