You can copy both to and from PC using WinHIIP, yeah.

I have a 300GB HDD in my PS3 and it works a treat.

I'm also guessing your system is modded? Best way for normal CD games is to use HDA as they take hardly any time at all.

Best HD is between 80GB and 200GB, it just depends on the amount of games you want on it.
      Hey Fami,

No my PS2 isn't modded, will this make a difference?

So with normal CD PS2 games i should just load them with HDAdvance? i can't burn them with DVD encrypter as i have tried with File F, IFO I and ISO R and W to no avail, although i understand this is because this program is only for DVD's. Isn't there some sort of CD Encrypter so i can burn PS2 CD games using my PC rather than my PS2?

Ok so i think i have it now, i basically rip DVD ROM games on to my PC using DVD Encrypter, then connect the IDE hard drive to my PC using USB, and then use WinHiip to transfer the files on to the hard drive, and then use HD Advance to burn CD PS2 games on to the PS2?

      Am i getting there?

The only reason people are recommending you connect your HDD to your PC is to give your PS2 laser a break (since it'll be copying the entire disc to HDD). You can install games on your PS2 itself, and this is what I do because I am too lazy to put the HDD in my PC :P

You don't need a modded PS2 to install domestic titles on your PS2, though you do for imports (though you can get around that by installing on your PC).

...or buy a fliptop, or just open up the PS2 if you want to put a backup or an import on the HD without using the PC.

            Thanks for the replies peeps,

So the only way to install compact disc PS2 games is to burn them using HD Advance, there are no similar programs to DVD Encrypter for burning CD games?

            Ben.

I brought a usb to IDE adaptor, and then use 'PS2 handiness'. Plug the ide drive into the cable, load up ps2 handiness and away you go (take's a bit of tinkering to get it working in vista though)
I've had my PS2 bloody ages now, and I'm sure it's becuase the laser is hardly ever used.

                'PS2 handiness'?

                What is this?

                Thanks,

                  Cool,

                  I get it now.

I use DVD Encrypter for DVD-ROM games and then i can burn CD-ROM games on to my PS2 hard drive by plugging said hard drive in to my PC and using Winhiip to burn the game on to the drive.

                  Thanks for the replies everyone!
