Playing Half life 2 (pc) with ps2 pad.

Hi can you play half life 2 with a ps2 pad so it works great. Obviously I no the mouse/keyboard is the main way to go but i want to try it with my ps2 pad to see what its like.

I can only get the left analog working for either moving or looking around. Anyone done this? any help?

    -thanks

Not really sure if my converter has a button map and relies on the game to have one.

I know there is software out there where you can trick your PC into thinking that your PS2/360 pad is a mouse and keyboard, but I can't remember the name of the software, there's a few actually.

Basically you'd map (for example) R1 as left mouse click for fire and up on the analog as W on the keyboard etc etc.

So everytime you press up on the PS2 pad your PC thinks you've pressed W, thus making a run forward movement on Half Life 2. Just sign the rest of the buttons respectively. It's a great work around for games that don't allow pads.

    Hope that makes sense.

I'm not sure if it's still about, but I think you're talking about something like joy2key (at least I think that's what it's called).
