    PS3 sound issues on HD-TV

I bought a PS3 yesterday, to go with my new Panasonic Viera HD-TV. However, the sound is a bit...well...flat. I'm struggling to get a balance between a good sound level for speech, without having any music blaring out. It's OK on games, but lacks any real bass on blu-ray films.

I've also got a HD-DVD player, and don't have the same problem with that, so I was wondering whether any of you have had a similar issue with the PS3, and how you fixed it. Is there a setting on the PS3 i've missed, for example?

    Thanks.

Not sure it helps mate, but you running via HDMI by any chance?

Both myself and my brother run out machines via HDMI and find them to be much quieter in terms of volume output on the TV, and you have to crank up the volume to get some decent sound. He runs his 360 via HDMI too, and it's not an issue.

Just a thought, other than that, not sure what else to suggest!

Yep, running through HDMI - guess this is setting me up for getting a decent amp/surround sound system!

Certainly good logic in that thought!

Give you alot more control over things too I expect!
