    US based retailers

Can't find any threads with any shops I don't know of, so I wondered if anyone knew of places that sold American games, that are based in the US?

Reason I ask is that, peculiarly, the USD exchange rate is better than the CAD one (?1=1.9CAD/2.0USD) and with VG+ prices being higher to compensate for the old days where the CAD was nearer 2.5, it means they're loads more expensive right now.

Tronix, NCSX, Gamestop, GameQuestDirect I know, but none have what I'm after (a PS3)

Have you tried Movietyme...although I doubt that they'l have what you're after if the above don't.

Ebay can be alright for US games if you can find a seller who offers sensible postage & will mark as a gift etc.

I'm after the 60gb one really, and Movietyme only have the 80. Might have to go with eBay, but there's none on there shipping to the UK right now. (With my basic search)

It'll be good to know some other retailers though, because US games are so much cheaper than Canadian right now

MovieTyme have been first class for me when buying Blu-Rays - with the exchange rate being so good prices are much cheaper than over here plus shipping is free and usually only takes a few days.

I've not ordered hardware or games so I can't comment specifically on them but if they're as good with them as they Blu-Ray I'd definitely recommend. Well, when they get them in stock anyway...

DVD Box Office are Canada-based but they give you the option to pay in US or CND dollars. I paid for my Wii in USD a few months ago and saved about £20

I'd also recommend Movietyme, they ship from the UK for a lot of stuff and are really fast on pre-orders.

              Don't ship to the UK

I've looked at about 30 different stores today, all with the same shipping restrictions!

It is very difficult to obtain verification information from banks outside of the US and Canada. For your protection, in most cases you will be required to fax or e-mail us a copy of your most recent credit card statement. If you are ordering from outside the United States, please contact your credit card issuing bank and ask them to release address verification information to GameStop.com. Without this verification, we will be unable to process your order.
Anyone had any experience with this. Do you just ring up your credit card provider and ask them, I suspect they'd won't know what you're talking about and think you're trying to steal someone details or something.

I don't think he sells hardware, but I get all of my PS2/3/P games from this guy. He's not the quickest but I don't often see him beaten on price, he reduces shipping for multiple items and I've not yet been hit with import duty on anything bought from him.

I've seen these sort of terms on a few US sites. You'd have to be an idiot to fax or e-mail credit card statements to anybody. Verification of credit card and correct matching delivery address details should be a simple matter. All credit cards have an international customer service contact telephone number on the back. I'd give that to the retailer in question then they can contact your CC provider directly. You might well have to field a call from the CC provider before they supply the required info.

Whether the retailer will play ball though is a different matter. If they don't want the hassle of making international telephone calls for confirmation you can't force them, in which case, I'd just walk away.
