                Sony don't make plasma's.

Get a Pioneer or Panasonic plasma. Nothing else remotely compares.

To be fair, it's probably the finest telly you can buy (If you can afford it)....
                  I'd love one!

sounds like a thumbs up then

I know it's a lot ot spend on a tv but I have the cash... guess thats the bonus of not being a car owner, more disposable income

Panasonic TH-50PZ70B, I reviewed the 42" in the review thread. £1600.

It's 1080p (but make sure you have HDMI things), and the picture quality for games is perfect (and a little nicer than the 42" even - less noticable image retention, slightly more consistent brightness).

Also the pioneer one is only one can do 24 fps as well for movies

I'm sat in front of the pio XDE, bought a few years back for about 3K.

We have never been dissapointed with the quality of the set, and following the correct burn in period, we also never had any issues with burn.

That said, I feel the options at about 1.5-2.0K these days are far better, and I don't think I would spend an extra grand on a pio in 2007.

If you can afford it, then you'll love it, but it is an awful lot of money for a TV.

We blew our savings, and then saw the same TV for sale at 2K some 8 months after we bought it.

When it gets to that level of price, I couldn't justify it for the money.
