Media centre and dvds (PC Streaming)

Hi all,

I have a dvd that wont play in the xbox but i can play it through my pc. Is there any way to stream this from my pc through my xbox onto the tv using media centre??

You can if you rip the disc.
Install Transcode 360 on your htpc, rip the dvd with something like magic dvd copier (better if you just rip the main movie).
Make a folder in My Videos called My DVDs, rip to that last folder.

On your 360 extender goto the dvd folder and find the movie, hit the info button on your remote and select transcode.
Ta Da!

Menus seem to make a lot of dicsc crash or lock up the extender.
