What about picking up a DS Lite to help pass the days?

Less expensive than a Wii / PS3, some cracking games out there to try and you should be able to sell it on without too many probs....or you could keep it and play it at lunchtimes (or under the desk) when you start working again

You have no option really, you just have to go an buy a second console.

Most of the Graw players have had to do the same. When my first machine broke I borrowed one of a guy at work, as he had "Found Warcraft"

Try finn.no for cheap used one? Or take the plunge at get an HDMI machine for fun.

Whatever you do, getting 3 months gardening leave is a rare thing, so I think the kr3000 for a machine is justified.

The 360 arcade might be the way to go. I get the HDMI and can use my hdd without having to worry about the transfer of data.

I`m really pleased with my new 360. It hardly makes any sound at all, at least compared to my old one. I`ve also gotten my copy of Forza 2 to work. Best of all, my wife didn`t try to kill me after she found out...

I`m really pleased with my decission to buy a new console...

The old one returned from service today. It still doesn`t work properly and I have to send it back. If I hadn`t bought a new console I would have had another three weeks without my precious xbox.

Without it I`d be a total wreck crawled up in my bed humming the menu music from GRAW untill it returned

My 360 is in for repairs at the moment. Disc drive not loading games.
When I was on the phone I really wanted to ask them something like "can you guarantee it will work when it comes back" but I thought I'll probably get a "computer says no" reply back so I left it.
I've finished the Resi 4 extras as Ada Wong yesterday and I've got the latest Metroid to go but I've also been reading the Mass Effect novel and Contact Harvest is in the post. I've read the other 4 Halo novels.
But I'm already missing the 360. I've finished the standard Portal levels and I'd just started the advanced ones.

Exactly the same problem I`m having. They`ve put in a new motherboard to fix the most of the problem with the rings of death, but ignored the fact that there`s some issues with the DVD drive as well.
Had a fun time arguing with the Swedish broad at Xbox support. The argument went a little like this:

Me "So I`ve got two consoles, when I try to play Forza on the faulty one I get a "disc unreadable" error. When I put the disc in my other console it works fine"

Swedish broad " It`s probably a problem with your disc then."

Me "But the disc works fine on my other console."

Swedish broad "Okay, it`s probably a problem with the disc"

Me "But the disc works fine on my other console!!! "

Swedish broad " Is it really a problem that you can`t play the game on both consoles? You could always just play it on the one that works."

After a good fifteen minutes of this she finally agreed to take the console back. I`m not really expecting it to be fully repaired though.

My machine came back with a report that they had replaced the Motherboard and DVD Drive but I never had any problem with the drive before I sent it off.
