Down arrow on TX2000 dance mat not working

My back arrow has decided to stop working now. I cleaned the pads, removed the wires and touched them together and it seems like a problem with the wires. I tried to take the mat apart and well, it looks like its not user servicable. It's impossible to get the metal off because its all welded together. The top is thick wood, the boot thick wood. How are you meant to get into the thing to fix it?

Any ideas anyone? Please i really want this to work again

be creative, find another way ie create a new pressure pad for that arrow and make it work linking to the cable.

But could it work I don't know.
