Don't bet on it. Depends on the value of what you ordered and how much DHL feel like charging you.

I've had handling fee's of £20+ before now.

To clarify - I got charged ?20 which comprised of ?19 VAT and ?1 for DHL processing. MattyD got the same.

Do you mean to say that they change the service charge?

Yep. My one for my 360 / Wii and other items over the years have been much more than that and varied a bit. And it was separate from the VAT.

I think it depends on some unknown scale* they have.

*they pretty much charge whatever they want to.

If I get stung I think I'll give YA a call, because it states on the receipt that 1 of their current offers is VAT free orders & free shipping for UK & Germany customers.

Just how much later is much later?

I recieved a 360 from Yesasia about 6 weeks ago and it was delivered by DHL, who I don't think I've used before so I'm wondering if I've escaped their clutches...

By comparison, FedEx billed me recently for something else but I recieved their demand within a month.

If that does happen, you will need to pay the charges then make a claim with yesasia to have the charges refunded* I had to go through the process a while back when I was stung on a PSP I got from them. Like your DS, it was sent directly from HK via courier despite me choosing the free shipping method.

*You won't get real money back though, just store credit.

Isn't something like VAT plus import fees (around 24-29% of the declared value)?

If thats the case then its no so bad. On the packing note attached to the outside YA did declare the value @ $100 (why they didnt mark it down lower I dont know), so thats about £50, & thats about £12.50-£15 in charges. We'll see what happens.
If I'd have known this was gonna happen then I wouldnt have bothered as the Ice Blue Colour doesnt seem as striking as it does from pictures I've seen. Dont get me wrong, its nice enough, but I thought it was going to be more of a vivid light blue.

Do u still have the packing note they slapped on the outside? What did they declare on it?

If it does happen then yes I'll have to pay up, then inform YA & show proof that I got charged in the form of a reciept I got from good ol' DHL. Store credit is better than a kick in the arse!
