I've been having a look on eBay and somebody is selling emu discs to play on the Dreamcast!

I had no idea about this at all!!! Is this possible with a bootdisc or do you need to get them chipped?

The Dreamcast can self-boot homebrew discs and 'the like'.

Just been looking around at this. There seems to pretty much be all sorts of emulators for it. I'm really surprised, it seems that you can even play PS1 & Saturn games on the Dreamcast.

I've had rr4 running on the dreamcast at 480p through vga. looks pretty nice, very sharp. Only time trial mode worked properly and alot of other games I tried didn't work at all.

This just started happening to mine, unfortunately. At least there's a temporary solution to it, but I'm scared I'd do something bad to it though.

As good as Samba DeAmigo is I dont think its worth the money it goes for really.

                        I'd forgotten about that one!!

How did Quake III & Unreal Tournament come out on it? I'd be tempted to get those as well if they were OK.

Half-Life was never officially released although the full code is, apparently, freely available online. It's supposed to have exceptionally long loading times/slowdown and you'd be much better off getting the PS2 version if you want to play it on console.

Bleemcast in it's final one game form was actually a bit pointless - I have the MGS disc. Smoother textures that's all.

Quake III A, Unreal and the oft forgotten (arguably for good reason) Out Trigger - nothing wrong with them on the DC but far from essential FPSs. However, all, I think, playable with DC keyboard/mouse which maybe an attraction.. But apart from the latter all or better FPS are available for PC or other platforms.

                            I've actually got Half-Life.

Loading times are frequent, and are long-ish. Playing on the controller isn't the best way to play, and I'm sure using a keyboard would be much better.

From what I played of it, it seemed decent enough.

Outtrigger was a real disappointment for me. When I first played it i was waiting for the training missions to end so I could get into the real game. I soon realised that the training missions was the game. Much better to play with KBAM than the controller tho.

I haven't touched it in a while, but doesn't DC Half-life have diabolically big, unoptimised saves as well?
