    Hi-Fi/CD player advice

Can anyone recommend a small form factor, slot loading cd player for home use? I'm not bothered about whether it features a radio or anything else. I'd like to spend less than ?250 if possible. Cheers.

Well I've just got this today, and although I've not had a chance to give it an extensive test it seems fantastic. Really rich, deep bass, sounds great and (although you said you didn't care about anything else) has lots of cool functionality.

That looks rather good. Could fit the bill perfectly.

Yep, you'll even have a pound to spare on your budget.

Really is a great sounding piece of kit - especially if you're into bass-heavy stuff.

I've demoed that Roberts. It sounded remarkably good.

I've got this although (mission) speakers are not attached (come with it though). Sounds lovely and has enough punch when needed.

My parents have had a similar Denon micro unit to that although its about 10yrs old- its wonderful sounding and they've never had a problem with it, very well built too.

My parents borrowed mine for a week to try out in their lounge. It's a big lounge but it fills it very well. It's a little complicated to use though. Some features weren't intuitive (majority were).

That Roberts is very Bose-like in its ethos - lots of bass from a tiny unit, but the finish and design seems better on the Roberts.
