xbox sniper elite on 360?

Ive just picked up a copy of this to play on my 360 but it wont play, it freezes after the intro.
Has anyone else managed to get it to work? I applied the update, then cleared the cache and tried again but no joy.

Tried any other games in your 'box Rob? If they all run smoothly bar SE, could be an issue your box has with this particular game....

I'm pretty sure Sniper Elite just doesn't work, despite claims to the contrary.

I think your right mate, I had a look round on the net earlier and it seems only the US can play it on their 360's.
Now, where to borrow an Xbox for a while!

Yeah I've had SE for about 2 yrs now & loved playing it on my Xbox.
Went to try it on my 360 the other day as I fancied an online game but it would only go as far as letting me choose my character. Tried just playing a regular game & it just wouldnt load up to the game screen.

Shame too as its 1 of the most underrated games on the Xbox IMO.

Flawed though. As far as the single player game goes: the sniping engine is superb but it's almost as though they became scared of making it (as it really should be) a proper stealth game. It undermines the authenticity they make such a big deal of in the manual when you relocate to a completely new location and it turns out to be utterly pointless because the AI enemies home in on you anyway.

It's the inconsistency that annoyed me most: some levels you can sneak into a building or underneath a bridge and hide but the moment you expose any part of yourself for a quick look you bring the entire weight of enemy fire-power down on you, horribly accurately. Other times, where this kind of response would make the level unplayable, you can sneak about in the open and dispatch enemies almost without effort.

There are also some incredibly obvious, annoying and ridiculous spawning trigger points too which along with the psychic AI forces you into exploits, using pre-set bobby traps or indulge in Medal of Honor quality fire fights. Fun enough but not what the game claims to be about.

SE is a real curate's egg ie. good, sometimes very good but also bad in parts.

Its still the best Sniper game out there at the mo.
I wish they'd make sequel, although I doubt its gonna happen because most people just want a run n gun.
