    pro 2008 with vista?

Hi my brother has pro 2008 but it wont work for him on his new pc. I was thinking it might be because he has vista. He doesn't live near me and he's only new to pc's.

His pc cost about 550 so if his graphics card is to weak then He got robbed. Surly its not just xp- that would be silly.

Does vista have a backwards compatability for xp games?

It's unlikely that a game published one or so month ago doesn't support Vista...well, it could be remembering how well console-to-PC conversions were handled some time ago, but I think things changed.
By "it won't work" what does he mean? Crashes? Reboots? PC configuration?
For 550 quids a PC should include at least a stand-alone, low budget card, I think that even a 8400 or a HD2400 should be able to run the game (albeit really slow), judging from the system requirements.

I think he said that it came up on screen saying doesn't meet minimum requirements.

It doesn't say vista on the back of the box so im guessing it's that. It's really gay if it is like that

I was hoping someone on here is playing it with vista so I can rule that out and then maybe try updating his G-card.

I don't think it's due to Vista. If minimum requirements are met, I'll bet on the graphic card. Maybe he bought one of those boxes with a good processor and integrated graphic card.

I play it in vista fine so it isn't the OS.

No, the problem here lies with Konami being total and utter ****s with bothering to support the latest hardware.

I've got a Quad COre Q6600, 8800GTX and 4gb ram on Vista and the sodding game still tells me that I don't meet minimum specs and only allows me to play at lowest setting.

Way round it is to download either the latest kitserver or the unofficial patch which bypasses the Settings default.

            More details:

perhaps this thread will be useful... as the similar one was for the demo, enjoy ;) EDIT: NEW:Kitserver: Kitserver 7.0.0f First release of LOD-mixer module. Limited functionality so far, but the following is implemented: - custom screen resolution supported - aspect ratio correction - now works...

I gave up as the v1.1 update screwed things up for me after I had installed the kitserver.

Funnily enough, I sent Konami an email asking why they didn't test it for Vista and they came back with an answer saying that they didn't support VIsta.

            Cowboys.
