    Playstation 3 80GB vs. 40GB

    Just a quick few questions.

I know the main difference is that the 80GB will play PS2 games, while the 40GB will not.

Also that the 40GB does not have space for memory sticks/flash drives or any of that in it.

What does the flash drive used for in the PS3.
I know the memory sticks are for PSP stuff and PS2 games to save.

So what does the flash drive do, and any other things I would be missing out on if i only went for the 40GB version?

You pretty much described everything. I've barely used my memory card ports, used it a couple of times to put a memory card straight from a friends camera into the PS3 for an instant slideshow. Used it for transferring stuff every now and again too.

The memory card slots are just that really. They'll allow you to easily transfer anything (Photos, music, films etc...) from pretty much any standard memory card format. Nice to have, but not something that's typically used a great deal.

Plus side of the 40GB is that it's using the 65nm process for the Cell processor, so consumes less power.

I assume you're looking at US models?

THanks guys. Yeah it's US models. Seeing if the 260 from VGP is worth it, when really it's not when I can get the 40GB for 200 quid.
