    CEX = Idiots

I placed an order with CEX for 3 DC games and waited a week still nothing through my door. So I emailed them to find out what was going on.
Their reply said that one of the items (the one I really wanted) was out of stock. So I decided to cancel my order with them.
Roll on to today and a parcel with a CEX sticker is sitting in work for me!

I open the package to find bits of the DC cases rattling around inside as both cases have been smashed to pieces ft:

Just thought I would go off on a wee rant as I am pissed off with the hassle of returning the parcel, paying postage etc.

I had a package turn up like that from BuyRite in the States. Worst of all, the box was so badly damaged that the games could have very easily just fallen out in transit

Im amazed you had an email so quickly.

I sent them one a while back asking if a game had the spine card with it...

I had a reply THREE WEEKS LATER saying sorry the item is not in stock (well it flamin was when I enquired the 3 weeks before)

      They are absolutely useless.

I'm still waiting for something from them 5 months after I ordered the damn things back in late feb, they seem to selectively reply to emails... Order PC Engine games, takes them 3 weeks to send then they send them via Proof of Delivey, two weeks later ask where games are (not that they will show or fax the POD slip to me...), 'Must be lost in the post', ask about replacements, ignore emails from me for a month, say ' Would you like replacements or a refund', want replacements as its too much hassle to ask for a refund (esp as im not in the UK...), another month and a bit passes, send them a politely written but obviously sarcastic email asking them where are the replacements, oh dont do PC Engine games anymore... Grrr! Give them a list of games, telling them to send me decent condition copies of these games, two weeks later told these items aren't in stock... send another email... still waiting.... *****!

CharlesR : Sell me one of the Daytona 2001s, this is one of the games I tried to order from CEX and got a 'This is out of stock' reply two weeks after I tried to order it...

in all fairness, the dreamcast cases do break if you so much as sneeze in their direction. out of my 30/40 games, i think 15 have broken cases.

They're bad, but not that bad.

The plastic hinges go if you bang the corners of them.

Stick them in a bit of bubble wrap and you're fine 90% of the time.

I have only ever bust one myself, and that was when I knocked the game off a table.

Charles, you probably have my copy then as I ordered it weeks ago and still, nothing.

What are they playing at? They used to be ok with deliveries.

If I understand right and they sent you the order you cancelled you don't have to return the items at all (you could demand they send a courier to pick them up at a convenient time to you, although that might be a bit unreasonable), and if you do, get them to pay the postage. If you're annoyed invoice them with a storage charge as well as the p&p. Last time I was sent unsolicited goods the company let me keep them as it was less hassle than getting them back

Commanly called by their real name of buy-wrong. Google would have been your friend on that one.

                      from BuyRite

                      Avoid.

Good trustworthy American places to order games from(in my experience, your milage may vary):

Classics, and, classfont_7span, morespanp, much, so, stylefont-styleitalicAll, the, ￿￾p

www.collectorscardsandgames.com Excellent, fast service. Good deal of stuff in stock. Games specified if boxed or loose. Ship via USPS surface, so you can avoid customs, most of the time.

www.ebworld.com (especially used DC titles can be had for nothing when they have their 30% off sales every few weeks) Disclaimer: Can be annoying as far as customs go. And their meager shipping options to Europe are only any good if you order a boatload of games at a time. Games can and do come "loose" sometimes. Excellent if you can bounce the package off a friend or realtive in the US.
