It is what? Same as Dual Shock 2?

If so, that's disappointing... The vibration on a 360 pad is great and I was hoping the Dual Shock 3 would be just as good!

Sorry to hijack yah thread but regarding teh ps3 vibrations, will older games vibrate, or is it just the newer ones that do.

Basically did developers on earlier games impement the vibration setting into their games just incase.

All the Sony games are getting (or have already had) patches to include rumble. Quite a few games that have come out recently also have it already (NBA2K8, The Darkness, FIFA).

Lastly, PS2 rumble compatible games will rumble if you have a backwards compatible PS3.

That will be nice for me as I felt it is strange to play a racing game without rumble.

Sony have said that it's the same 2 motor tech as the DS2 but some people using them seem to think that there are far more varieties of vibration available. I suppose that's possible as they have always improved pads over time.

Also work with rumble PS1 & PS2 games now!

Does no one have the nerve to open their DS3 and have a look inside?

There were 2 versions of the DS 2: ones with different sized motors, and another (newer model) with same motors but different sized cams.

                        Edit: ne'ermind, found a pic:

So same mechanics as DS2 then. But some are saying these motors can spin both ways, for the Touchsense thingy.

610mAh battery - surprised the pads have good battery life with such a relatively small battery. It looks like you could connect a PSP 2100mAh battery if you removed the casing...

I have an annoying and sometimes expensive habit of having to pull everything to pieces as soon as I get it!!

Unluckily or luckily, depending on your view, the DS3 uses screws with the tiniest head size ever made so I've not been able to open and/or break it yet!
