Joytech AV Control Center 640HD PS3

I haven't seen a topic about this one yet, am I correct?
It's not on the Joytech website yet, but it seems to be released somewhere in December.
What do we think? I'm still messing with my AVC 245C that has problems with the component video, maybe this is a nice alternative then.
Does anyone know how the "PS3 port" is connected?

I think I read something about the 540C version having a cable which connects the Xbox to the AVCC 540C (but through what channel is the signal sent to the tv?).

And is it me or does the 640HD seem to have 2x VGA and 4x HDMI? :O

In theory these boxes are a good idea but unfortunately to keep the price within the realms of mortals the components used are not of the highest standard and as such aren`t always 100% compatible with every console / device.
But I have to say the one you`ve posted about doesn't look as awful as that sudo 360 thing they released.

If it's anything like the 540C, run the other way as fast as you possibly can

Concerning the same problems the 245C has you mean?

That might be the one I mean actually! I couldn't believe how subpar that was.

Spec-wise this looks great, and the HDMI shouldn't suffer quality loss, but after their previous devices, I'm skeptical about the Component and VGA quality.

Well, I think the 240C, 245C and 540C all suffer from the same problems over component video, unfortunately.
But yes, by God I hope the 640HD will shed light in our combi switcher darkness

Sorry guys trying not to be a know it all here but non of these Joytech AV Control systems are ever going to be 100% perfect.
It all comes down to cost and the quality of the componants used.
You would be better off saving a few extra £s and looking at some higher end stuff, Audio Authority make a nice line of products and would be a good starting point.
Joytech do make some good products - the 3 way hdmi switcher is a great bit of kit.

This device has the potential to be great, and following the good reviews of the Joytech 3 Way HMDI Splitter for the price point it came out at I think we should wait and see how this one fairs..

I own the Joytech 3 Way HDMI Splitter and use it for my PS3 and 360 and have had no problems, simple to set-up, great price, andgreat features.

I also own the Joytech Control Center 540c component splitter, used that since the 360 was released for splitting the component inputs of my 360, Wii, PS2, and DVD recorder and again never had a problem with that either (although I have read a large ammount of threads where people have had)

So as long as this is well priced (Just seen it retails at £89.99) and follows the standards of the HDMI splitter then it could be a very good purchase..

Looks like its available here from the 30th for £73.97..

I can live with the fact that it's not High End AV equipment (though the SCART splitters did an amazing job in my experience, as well as on the s-video department and having 4 optical connections... yummy!). But having all devices on component video suffer from video dropouts that's bugger
I really really really hope this is past tense with the 640HD.

the JVC component switcher is good value for money too, only does component and coaxial but its $99.

It has been 31-12 now, did anyone see any of these AVCC's yet? It's still not on the Joytech website...

I got Joytech AV control centre which I use for optical switching only. It work fine but it take up too much room (Would like it to be about 15 cm shorter) to similar size of PS2. But I am not going to buy a different one for sake of size (and extra optical input for XBOX)

I've pre-ordered on of these units, but the release date keeps getting postponed

It's in Dutch, but the realtime date is at the line:
Verwachte voorraad datum: dinsdag 12 februari 2008

So far the only affordable unit which combines HDMI and Component switching available in Europe, so I hope it comes through soon...

I got a reply from Joytech on this matter stating this unit might not be released at all
(well, if it's because of technical problems, it's good I guess, but still, no alternative >_< )
