    Wii pointer stutters...?

Something occured to me when I played some Metroid today. When I first got my Wii last year the pointer was really smooth, but after the initial update its since a bit chuggy.

It's not really bothered me, but whilst ive been at home the last few days I wondered if there was a fix?

    Thanks

Thats really strange as i noticed this when playing umbrella chronicles today.

Seemed to be stalling when moving across the screen. Hmmm maybe its battery life? my mote was running a bit low

If there are any sources of Infra red in the room they could be interfering.

Go to the remote sensitivity settings and you can see what the wiimote sees, so make sure it is all Aok there

Bright sunlight or having the backlight turned up too high when using an LCD TV can cause this as well.

Indeed, I've found strong sunlight and any objects that might obstruct the line of sight do interfere with the motion.

ah I always thought it was an update issue, clearly not - i've had a fiddle - nothings making any difference though

If you have the remote bar on top of the TV, try pulling it forward so the front edge is just overhanging the front of the TV. I don't know if it improves the radius covered by the IR LEDs in the bar that much, but it certainly seems to help for me. Or put it on the stand if you still have it.

Maybe it's just an issue with Umbrella Chronicles; I find the pointer is perfectly smooth in the menu, but if I boot up Elebits, then there's always a bit of pointer-shake. Think it's even a bit less smooth in the Mii channel (can't remember for sure though).
