Absolutely livid with Nintendo customer service, what can i do?

Hi, i'm ****ing livid, and i'll tell you why, please may i have advice?

A few months ago, my wiimote stopped picking up any movement on the screen without it being directly next to the sensor bar, i immediately tried new batteries and it was the same so i contacted nintendo customer services.

They asked me to send in my wiimote and sensor bar, a few weeks later, a new wiimote and sensor bar arrived, i synced them, same problem.

I contacted customer services, they asked for me wii, i sent it in, a month or so later, i get back the same Wii, still not working, was a bit upset to be honest.

I contacted them again, this time they sent me a pre-paid postage label as i paid the first two times, i sent it in again (3rd time now) i've just got in, rushed upstairs with it (I'm desperate for galaxy) opened it, first of all i was worried as it contains a note with comments..

"No idea what fault is. Tested the console and found no problems. If its a syncing problem I have included a guide"

Obviously worried, plug the components in (360 is in) and low and behold, same ****ing problem, i tried synciing again, just the same, will only read wiimote when next to the sensor.

    I'm absolutely livid.

    What can i do?

(i've sent an e-mail to Nintendo customer services, but i'm livid and puzzled why it wont work, and for the record, i played Zelda for over 90 hours without a problem before it stopped working)

    Thanks Nintendo!

This is probably too obvious to be of any help.

Have you looked at the Wii remote settings on the Wii menu? There's an option to check the remote's sensitivity which I think changes the amount of light it needs in order to point. There's also a small test which shows you which light sources (if any) are being picked up by the remote. You would ideally want to have it only detecting the wii sensor lights. If you have any bright light sources near by it could put it off.

If the service centre has tested it and it's working for them, then I'd guess it's something different about your setup. Either that or they are just a bunch of cowboy technicians.

Do you have any shiny surfaces near by? Glass tables etc in your play area? Post a pic of your set up if possible. I will trouble shootz!

Whimper, well, i know i'm at fault, but maybe nintendo could of told me about this 3/4 months ago.

I thought there was something wrong with me wii as i played zelda for 90+ hours, then i'd been playing pinball and then it stopped picking up wiimote..i didn't think it would be something so simple.

            Sorry, and thank you again.

Is it in the manual? I never read them either, to be fair.

                Oh, go on then.

It can be difficult to know what the solution to a problem is when you're stressed out. You need to think dispassionately about it and methodically rule out the possibilities.

                Glad this solved it.

Well i thought i was ok, but earlier i moved back onto my bed to lay on my side and play, and its back to how it was, not picking up wiimote

It works up to about a metre away, and thats the sensitivity option on 5 (right up)

Its me, right!? What can i do?

(atleast i can play it and its not affecting my enjoyment of SMG, but doesn't hide the fact that when i move back it wont work)

Did you rule out the possibility it was other light sources? If not, the light test should give you an indication.

Otherwise, I'd guess there's something getting in the way of the wireless connection. I assume your bed's not on the other side of a thick stone wall?

I've tried it with my light on and same difference.

But, this is why i originally thought it was my wii...i played Zelda for 90+ hours and i had no problems and nothing has changed light wise in my room since...

                      I'm puzzled.

You're not the only one mate, I had problems with mine if it was more than a meter or so away at first.

It ended up being the sensitivity as mentioned but I could find no reference to this being the potential problem anywhere in the instructions.

I was lucky though as I found the setting after a few hours so didn't have to got through everything that you did!

I'm amazed that Nintendo didn't think to mention this to you though.

Hang on... On a similar side note.

Anyone know how to cure the shakyness of the pointer on the screen?

I got that Link Zapper shooting game recently and found the shakyness of the cursor slightly off putting when I'm trying to shoot!

Go into the Wii settings and check the sensitivity. If you have it too high the remotes may be picking up additional light sources like your light bulb.

Also, how far are you from the screen? If you're too close then the machine will exaggerate the natural shakiness of your hands (even if it's just caused by your pulse, everyone's hands shake a little, especially if you're holding something out in front of you).

My hand shakes terribly if it ain't got a beer in it.
