    Question about 480p(PAL Wii Games)

Heya, sorry if this question doesn't belong in here:

If a game like SSX Blur, which supports 480p only, but doesn't support 50Hz/60Hz mode(576i/480i, but I am sure it supports 576i too because all PAL games supports this mode) will really run in 480p(60Hz)? or it will run in 576p(50Hz)?

I am just wondering, so I won't have to worry about if a game can support 480i/576i mode too, anything below 480p on my LCD looks ugly , and usually games that support 480p supports 480i too.

Or in other words, any *PAL* game that supports 480p, will run in full 60Hz?

    Thanks in advance!

If a PAL games support progressive scan, it s always 480p,60Hz.

        Cool, thanks!

So that means that SSX Blur for example, will run ONLY in 576i/480p? because 480i is not supported(according to the game box), and the default display for a PAL game is 576i of course.

Also, got another question about 16:9 and HDTVs:

I have a 32 inch toshiba Regza LCD(32WL68T), and if the game is not supported by 16:9, I have black boarders on both sides(mostly happends with PS2 and GC games, because most of them didn't support widescreen).

Now, almost all the games that supports 16:9 are running in full screen(first party games, like MP3,Mario Strikers,Galaxy etc...), but games like RE4 are 16:9(widescreen) supported(according to wikipedia and some gaming sites), but still I have black boarders! why is that? mabye it's not true?

I heard that some 16:9 games have that issue with black boarders, and it can be fixed with "overscan" on a HDTV, what is "overscan" and how do I activate it?

Take note that I am talking about playing on a PAL Wii, PAL games,480p and 16:9 mode on.

        Thanks in advance!

            480p is 60hz.

so any game that supports 480p should have 480i 60hz mode also.

On your TV if you want to manually remove the black borders you can press the button directly below the P^ button and you can cycle through different picture options.

Oh yeha, I know what you are talking about, but I just tried it, usually "Super Live 1" does the trick for me in my "channel TV"(you see a less streched picture), but on the Wii it still has borders and the top and the bottom are cut , so I guess I will stick with Wide or 4:3.

Anyway, tested it on Mario and Sonic olympics, and the best option is "Wide", although there are still black borders, oh well... seriously not a big deal, but annoying .

BTW, the "black borders" issues happends with PAL games only(even on 480p?) or any HDTV?(even with NTSC games?).

              Thanks!
