    360 Controller Repair?

    Oi oi!

I haven`t taken a control pad apart since my SNES days but I have a wobbly left stick on my wireless 360 controller (it sure has seen some action!).

It`s a bit loose and unless it`s left in a dead center position it`ll control whatever is on screen on its own.

Can it be fixed or should I just go out and buy another?

    Cheers!

Ring up MS , they will quite happily send you out another.

      Cheer Boris!

How does that work? Do I send them mine for repair and they send me a new one or summat?

More often than not they'll just send you a fresh one.

Depends whether you can be arsed to wait to get through though :S

Just to confirm that when my wireless controller stopped working they sent me a new replacement.

I didn't mention the fact that I'd opened the controller for a case mode.
Not sure that that had anything to do with it, however.

Blimey, that's awfully nice of them ... no proof of purchase or anything required? How broke does it need to be? The "click" button on the left thumbstick of my controller is a bit dodgy ...

I may have needed proof of purchase were it not the one that came with my 360. The machine I got it with was out of it's twelve month warranty, actually, although I had had the machine (but not the controller replaced) by the retailer less than twelve months previously.

When I say mine was broken, I mean it wouldn't even turn on. I think it was caused by excessive charging...
