What is good for media software?

I play videos in GOM player and audio (rarely) on winamp. I am happy with both but was wondering if there's any good library software for video?
WMP will search your hdd and then show all the video files which i kinda like. Any other good software does that? i don't like wmp particularly but would like something similar to see quickly what i have to watch.

Unless you have vista the best bet for xp imho is wmp, plenty of plug ins for for most media types avi, divx, mov etc.
