Problems with my modded PS2 slim?

Bought a Pal silver one from ghost2fitter last xmas, its a matrix infinity chip. Didn't play any ps1 games straight from the off, but got it fixed.

Its been playing fine since, but I've had a long break from it for about 3 months. When I turned it on yesterday, it stopped working with imports, but it still works with pal stuff, also no matrix infinity logo comes up either, does that mean the chip just suddenly died? I don't think its the laser, as I haven't really played that much on it and I don't play copies either, please help!

Sounds like the chip is disabled. Turn the console off. Hold down, if i recall correctly, cirlce, square, X and Y and the start button at the same time and turn the ps2 on. That should turn the chip back on

Dunno mate, but you can turn the chip on or off and that sounds like the most obvious explanation. Good luck.

Got it to work a couple of times and a couple of times that didn't, hopefully it'll stay working.....

It may be an idea (at your own risk) to re-flash the chip.

Firmware Upgrade v1.93 is the one you want.

Unzip it, burn it to a CDR then boot it in the ps2

Its V1.93 already..... Its really strange, I mean it was working fine before, haven't dropped it or done anything with it for 3 months, then suddenly stops working (might be working now). Same thing happened with my DC, haven't played it for a long while (1year!) then played it for about 30min, the next day it stopped reading disks, although I think its the laser on that one thats broke, as I've had it for a long time.....
