Looking for an AV rack with doors

Bit of a strange subject title, but bear with me. Due to the noise from the 360, I'm looking for an AV stand/rack which has doors on it to try and minimise the noise from the thing when watching films. Most racks these days seem to be open-fronted affairs.

I'm not bothered about width as the TV is going to be wall mounted, as will the centre speaker, so I was just wondering if anyone knows of any reasonably priced suppliers as Google just seems to be turning up the very expensive suppliers at the moment!

    Thanks,

    Mike.

Wouldn't that cause heat build up which might harm the 360?

A decent closed AV rack will be vented at the back

I've got a really good one from Ikea but can't remember what it is called and can't see it on their website. Sorry!

It's got 2 doors opening outwards with frosted glass in the doors that still lets IR signals thru. Well ventilated at the back and capable of 2 shelves behind each door (3 at a push).

My 40" TV looks excellent on it. Could probably squeeze a 46" on there.

Get down to Ikea and have a look for it.

Well after much surfing the web (thanks for the links) and looking at some fabulously expensive pieces of kit I ended up going to Ikea and picking up one of theirs. The main reason for the doors was because of my son who is fascinated with the kit, but also because I wanted to minimise the noise from the 360.

My amp is a big box so I also needed something of a reasonable size which could take my AV stuff as well as a few consoles. This Ikea unit suited my needs perfectly. As far as ventilation goes, I just decided to leave the back off it which also made things easier from a cabling point of view.

I think its a different unit from yours Bob but for the price I couldn't really complain. I also found a local installer to get my TV mounted on the wall and the speaker cables hidden, so the transformation was pretty amazing and its amazing how much tidier everything looks now.

Pics of unit please. What's the noise like now?

I've got an open rack with all my stuff on and I have similar problems. Glowing buttons are magnets to baby fingers.

Does IR work through the frost?

                          Meanwhile, here's the unit.
