    Evolution NTSC - Dreamcast VGA

I have a copy of the rare Evolution 2 for DC that I have been meaning to play for ages but never got round to.

I decided that I would play on it soon but thought that I would go through the first one again but could not find my copy.

I went on eBay and got hold of a NTSC copy of the game and planned on playing it on my UK PAL Dreamcast in VGA using the AR CDX disk. This works for all other games.

When I try and play Evo it comes up with a message that says 'This game does not support the cable selected. Please change the cable and try again.' or something along those lines.

On the back of the box it says that it supports VGA and it is in this list of VGA compatable games.

    Any ideas?

    DC: UK PAL
    Game: NTSC
VGA: VGA Cable not VGA Box

    BTW, Evo 2 works fine.

Maybe you need to try an alternative boot disc to load it? My PAL copy ran fine over VGA on a US machine, as I remember (although that doesn't really help you).

Oh, and I wasn't aware Evolution 2 was rare? Still have my copy I bought shortly after release. Then again, are we talking rare, or rare as in 'widely available but hiked to hell in a Radiant Silvergun style'?

Pretty sure that although it claims to be vga compatible on the box that it actually isn't, I'm fairly certain that it's one of those games that can be forced into vga though, with the use of a vgabox so you might have to give that a try.

The PAL version of Evolution 2 is rare as in hard to find.
