Oh noes - my girl's new Pokemon Gold and Silver carts have flat batteries! She played it for two hours this-afternoon and almost cried when she found all her saves wiped
I came to the rescue with my Game Bit screwdriver and told her I'd buy a replacement battery at the watch shop tomorrow - but I can't get the sodding battery to come off the board!
I always assuemd the batteries were just slid underneath the little clip (you can see them in some of the see-through carts), but they actually seem to be stuck to the battery somehow. There are two little dimples on the upper clip so I'm wondering if the clips have been punched / riveted to the battery somehow? When I try to peel them off I can get them back as far as the first dimple and that's it. They're extremely thin so I'm afraid of snapping them if I apply any more pressure.
I'll give 1,000 Internets to anyone who knows how to remove the battery without breaking the board!
