PS3 - How much Electricity? (Media Related)

Hi people,

Pretty much all the time in my place i've got music playing in the background if i'm not doing anything (usually via a Panasonic Midi-System).

Now I'm in two minds about transferring my CD collection onto the PS3 and playing via my HDTV (The speakers aint that bad) but out of curiosity how much electricity (juice) does a PS3 use when just being used to play MP3's?

I know it makes me sound like a skinny bast but if it's a lot then there's no point in having a bigger elecci bill

you can get a power measuring device for pretty cheap < &#163;15 , and plug it into anything to measure how much its consuming, used one at work last week to calculate the power needs of the server rooms. it tells you exactly how many watts are being used from idle, and then when you have the item under load.

The ps3 is very power hungry and not that efficient. Even in idle its using about 170+ watts. The 40gb version is supposed to be more efficient.
