Best picture from Wii on this HD telly

    http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/stor...4&category_oid=

Can someone recommend me the best method of connecting Wii to this tv, for the best picture etc. I currently just have an RGB scart going into my old CRT.

So that is the best option, the official component?

      Marvellous.

I recently ditched my GAME branded one and bought an official one, on the recommendation of this very forum.

I noticed bugger all difference (it was still rubbish and blurry on a 40" LCD)

edit: got mine from Play.com btw.

Yeah, but Big Seany has gone Plasma, which is much more forgiving to lower resolution sources, nowhere near as good as CRT. but a million times better than LCD.

I did exactly the same thing, though I have a Standard Def 42 inch plasma. Couldn't tell the difference, and no one else have noted a change in picture either. Still looks good though and glad I never went for an HD TV now. Good quality standard def is far more important to me than seeing the freckles on someones nose.

I'm currently using an official RGB cable with my Wii on a 40" Sony Bravia (1080p capable).

Will buying a component cable (thinking of the GAME cheapy one - ?12.99) really improve my picture much?

It won't be a complete transformation, I am one who feels the benefits of 480p over 480i are often overstated, especially if you have a good TV that can deinterlace properly.

But certainly I'm picky enough to go 480p anyway, and it's worth remembering almost all Wii games do support 480p.

I noticed a bit of a difference, but not much.

Worth splashing out for an official component just to know you have the best quality possible, imo (in conjunction with settings from a forum such as avforums.)
