hi guys

My pal ps2 recently packed up and decided not to work anymore with games, but does with dvd's . So im on the verge of getting one of them pastel blue ps2's the limited edition jpn ones, however can someone confirm how import freindly the boot up menu's are on it, like were yu select your memory card for example, and if you can get these chipped with messiah 2's ok?

I have a Jap PS2 and all the menus can be switched into English. Making it identical to my PAL machine.

* You can switch the language to English. I can't remember if the default language is Japanese on JPN decks, you would expect so, so you may have to feel your way through the setup menu to switch it to English.

* Be aware that NTSC PS2's cannot play PAL DVD's AT ALL.

* The vertical stands to match the coloured PS2's can be a real pain to pick up.

* A quality 60W stepdown will be sufficient to run a JPN PS2 (39W) in the UK.

* UK RGB cables work fine with JPN PS2's.

* UK peripherals and memory cards work fine with JPN PS2's.

* They (the 39000s/sa/aq series) can be chipped with a Messiah2.

i dont plan to watch dvd's on it , as i got a dvd player set up already on the tv.
