PC - TV streaming videos

Looking to get the parents something so that can stream files from the pc to the tv. They mostly use DivX so it need to use that.

What sort of price do they come at?

Modded Xbox with XBMC for £50. Bit more expensive if you want wireless.

There's things like this (poor reviews on that one but seemed to work fine for some people).

Never known anyone own anything like these though. My friend's mum has an xbox with xbmc in her bedroom - if she can use it, anyone can. Although they do have network sockets everywhere which makes streaming from their home PC easy.

Have to agree with Charlesr the DLink one is awful, had one a while back - it spent half its life cutting it self off from the network. XBMC is the most versatile solution. Not sure about the Buffalo one but it does have AOSS™ which is ment to be pretty good once set up.
