    Xb 360 Questions??

    Hi all,
about to invest in a 360 just had one main question. I have a modded Xbox 1 and use it with my official component cables and enigmah switcher to run the console in NTSC mode thus forcing (most) PAL games into 480p or higher. I wondered if my PAL discs, Halo, Street Fighter etc. etc. etc. running on the 360 through a HDMI cable will run in progressive mode? or due to the 360 being PAL will the original Xbox games only output in 480i?

Also wondered if any HDMI cable will work with the PAL unit or if I need to get the official kit?
    cheers

All OG Xbox games are upscaled on the 360 to whichever res you have it set to. I believe Halo and Halo 2 were even run in native 720p, whatever that means.

I *think* you can use any HDMI cable (wait for confirmation on this), although you need an official adapter if you want analogue/digital out sound.... Or this: http://www.chadledford.com/?p=50

As above says, all games will be upscaled to the resolution you set on the console, be it 720p, 1080i, 1080p or VGA resolutions. HDMI isn't even officially capable of 480i/576i.

I'm told the US versions of Halo 1/2 run in 720p native, but I've never seen this for myself. Certainly the PAL ones don't.

You can use any HDMI cable, but if you want sound from Red/White analogue RCA, or optical, you'll need to hack the plastic shell off your Component/Composite cable. Not particularly hard.

excellent, thanks guys :-) Yeah I'd heard Halo 1 ntsc runs in 480p native with the second in 720p, but also never tried. That's cool though as long as it upscales them. Cheers
