    Dreamcast cleaning

Decided to get my DC out after reading the replay thread when I noticed the case (front panel and lid) had turned bright yellow.

I?ve tried cleaning it with bleach and covering it in toothpaste (read that works a treat with carts) but neither method seems to work.

    Any ideas?

I don't think I've seen one go bright yellow before. Like a horrible nicotine colour I take it? I think they look ok when they go a slightly off white colour like mine.

You can get replacement covers i think. Or just swap cases with another one.

      I did exaggerate a bit.

I think it?s because it?s sitting next to my Wii - the Dreamcast looks banana coloured in comparison.

I've heard of people getting good results by sticking the case in the dish washer on high and covering any labels with vasline so they dont get wet.

You could try using acetone on it - it works on 360 pads. Nail varnish remover.

I've thrown it in the dishwasher on 8.

How long do you leave it on for?

I've never cleaned anything as big as a DC case before with it, but on white pads and stuff you just put some on some cotton wool or tissue and just wipe it. It normally strips stains or discolouring straight off, like instantly. It's water-thin, so you wouldn't be able to coat the case and leave it on.
