    LCD with 360.

Hi a freind of mine is going to buy a 40" lcd for his 360 Elite so I was just wanting to no is their anything he should look out for in terms of dodgyness.

I think I heard people talking of lag problems with older consoles but is it all ok with these new consoles?

    -thanks

Really all depends on the screen not the console. My advice would be to try the 360 on the screen in the shop

I've been using my 360 with a 32" LCD for two years without any problems. There's only a little ghosting while playing when you first turn it on and it hasn't warmed up, but not enough to distract you.

Make sure the LCD has a 'games mode' as this turns off most if not all of the picture processing, which is the main cause of input lag. If you turn that on and turn off any other effects there shouldn't be any discernable lag on any modern, good quality set.

The ghosting effect is far less noticeable on domestic LCDs than it is on say a PC monitor or even a PSP screen, but find something with the lowest response time you can (say 6 - 8ms) for the best results.

Also, if he intends to use HDMI make sure the TV has a Just Scan option.

Just make sure he is getting a decent brand (Samsung,Toshiba,Sony,Panasonic etc)

As Matty says one that has a "just scan" option (samsungs) or exact scan (toshibas) or a native scan mode as that will improve things no ends.

Panasonic Viera's are very good. I just got a 26 LCD for a bedroom and a 37 for the living room and they look amazing.
