PS3 -> PSP remote play problem

I have decided to hook up my PSP to my PS3 and go down the remote play route but seem to be having a problem with it. I have registered my PSP on the PS3 but when I try and access the PS3 it just times out.

Are there any particular settings I need to be aware of and change so they can communicate with each other?

Have you been into Remote Play on the PS3 first and then launched it on the PSP?

Otherwise, I think the way you get into it, is by enabling the PSP to switch the PS3 on (via the PS3 settings). In which case it switches the PS3 on for you and then goes to the Remote Play screen.

On my PS3 when I enabled that option the PS3 kept rebooting. This can be an issue if you have WiFi, so be careful.

Yeah that was it. Don't do that!

I couldn't turn my PS3 off without the switch!

The usb port on my PSP has never worked and think the only way to setup remote play is via this method.

Still can't get it to work. It recognises the PS3 but just times-out.

How do you turn that off? My PS3 keeps turning itself back on when I turn it off!!

Probably not the person to ask as I've only had my PSP for 2 days It's a setting on the PS3, under Remote Play isn't it?
