    Iphone Question

Just about to buy an unlocked Iphone running the 1.1.2 software but want to make sure I have all my bases covered before I hand over nearly ?300.
I have a current o2 contract so this should work fine i'm told.
I then plan to add the ?7.50 bolt on for unlimited surfing on the Edge network.
I am running I tunes 7.5 and have turned auto updates off for when I connect the phone to the PC but do I need to change a setting on the iphone itself so it doesn't update when I connect to itunes via the phone?
I hope i'm being clear if anyone has any further advice I would appreciate it, I would have gone the official route but as I only upgraded a few months ago O2 want an extra ?219 to come out of the contract .
    Cheers...

Nope mate, you don't have to change anything on the iPhone itself, just iTunes.

Have you checked the exact date you upgraded? I thought if you upgraded before the iPhone was announced, you could just switch to it and not be penalised?

You can sign up for membership to The Cloud for mobile wifi. Coverage isn't great but if you frequent a lot of cafes, pubs, and what not then it may be worth it...

Might as well get a contract then for that price.

Edge is about the same speed as the old 256k 'broadband' I used on cable a few years back. It's loads better than GPRS and not that far off wi-fi.

I love my iPhone to. The only thing that is really getting on my nerves is the lack of MMS, but I can live without it. Just when my fiance wants to sen me pics its a whole lot easier then uploading to PC then me getting them from my PC to iPhone. But yeh I am very pleased with it, an can't fault anything else!

You can still recieve MMS but not send it. Personally I'm not bothered about that as it's something I never used anyway.
