HD rescue software

After doing something incredibly stupid last night while drunk. Windows is reporting that my secondary HD is damaged/unformatted.

Can anyone reccomend any good software to try and get some files off the HD. I havent touched the drive since it was damaged so hopefully iu'll be able to resue some stuff.

The best rescue/recovery software I have used is Spinrite. It is not free however but a reasonable $20 from grc.com.

found some software called easues data recovery which did the job, quite scary stuff really which even found items that survived after after a format.

All sorted now and got 95% of the stuff i wanted saving.
