I won't be getting a PCI system, can't afford it.
Want to breath life in my old PC for now.

I have the Radeon in my PC, it's jolly good, prolly the best DX9 radeon there is, and the 512MB RAM is a plus over the Nvidia you're looking at.

The ATI x1950 Pro will be the faster card, although I appreciate it's slightly more expensive. Toms hardware has some benchmarks (although 7800GT is the closed to the GS I believe you can get to).
