Connecting to Wii shop channel

When I try and connect to the shop channel it comes up with an error message brings me back to the Wii menu.

Whats up with this?

It's on a Japanese Wii in the UK.

Could be a few reasons, does it give an error number at all?
Also worth checking is whether or not you've agreed to the connect 24 statement found in the settings menu, otherwise you can't access the shop.

I'm stuck at some screen with two boxes to put stuff in..ID it says, what do I put in?

Glad to hear you got it working, from memory I think the ID bits if you have a club nintendo account you put it in there.

I skiped it and it worked fine..

And looking around the DS download channel...not easy to navigate with everything in Japanese lol but I got to some cool Brawl vids.

Really should have got a US model...

But then how could you play Brawl a month before everyone else?
