Jap PSP Slim & 3.9 firmware

HI,

Having a PSP Slim from Japan, when I installed the latest update the new Skype app wasn't there (I guess because of the delays to the service over there.)

I can't run an updater from the Europe site as the PSP tells me I already have 3.9 installed. Apart from waiting for the next revision, what are my options?

I thought that the updates were region free (Same file used worldwide)? Perhaps it's coded into the update not to activate Skype on a JP PSP?

I'm not sure. Has any other Jap slim owners upgraded using the Euro or US update and had a different result?

Not sure if you have custom firmware or not, but if you do you can apparently fake the region in the recovery menu that will enable Skype on a JPN machine. I'm guessing you'll have to wait if you're on official firmware.
