    PSP Questions

Going to get a psp for mobile gaming / videos and was wondering.

Is there any benefit in getting a Jpn or US psp rather than a UK.Any different screens like the phat models ?

I presume its still just a matter of changing the US/JPN lead for a UK kettle(figure 8) lead.

Can you still transfer games from the ps3 ,bought in the store, to the psp if its got custom firmware installed.

The PSP charger is 110 or 240 so just buy an adaptor or better still a USB charging cable.
Screens are all the same as far as I know.
Tip: Take the battery out when not in use unless you have put the machine to sleep. I got annoyed at my PSP being flat every time I went to use it.

Never thought about a USB charge cable.I presume the charge cable with the ps3 will do the job.

I don't think you can use the PSP whilst it is charging via USB when running official f/w (unless recent f/w has enabled this). You can with custom f/w I believe.

I'm running the latest M33 firmware & transferred a few PSP demos from the US store a couple of days back without any probs. Would imagine games will work fine too (they certainly did last time I tried).

Going to try some local indy shops tomorrow to see what they have. One of them used to stock JPN psp in different colours.

If they have none i want then i may order the Daxter bundle from VG+.

Hopefully they will mark it down to avoid being hit with customs.

VG+ marked both my Wii & PS3 down (without me asking). There were no charges at all to pay so reckon you'll be fine with a PSP John.

There is a sleep mode and an "off" mode though isn't there? You Hold the switch to turn it right off. I recently looked at buying a PSP and the price of importing one is so close to buying a UK one, it barely seemed worth the risk/effort.

I don't think there's anything over here that comes close to matching the value of the Daxter pack though, is there? I imported one from VG+ towards the end of last year and it cost me £130, including the shipping. And you get Daxter, which is awesome, the Family Guy UMD and a 1GB memory stick.

Thats the bundle i am considering.

You should just be able to transfer the games over.

From memory the PS3 will create a unique license (tied to your PSN account) on your PSP that enables you to use the games. You can only have one set of license info on the PSP at any one time though, so it's not possible to have games bought using different PSN accounts (US, JPN, HK etc.) on the memory stick at the same time.....

Yup, pair the PS3 and the PSP and just hit /_\ to bring up the menu and copy to PSP.
