Ebay xbox live 48 endless code's? - I no nothing on the subject plz tell

Hi I'm getting a 360 soon and want to no if it's better to pay 99p or whatever on ebay for these endless 48 hour code's that supposedly keep your gamer tag or buy the usual yearly gold one?

So if anyone uses these 48 hour code's that I see flying about this forum and can tell me more about them that would be good as I want to no before I get the 360.

Personally I'd recommend picking up an Xbox Live Vision Camera/Live Subscription pack for £49.99 from play.com or hmv or somewhere (online). As you get the 12 month XBL sub worth £40, the Xbox Live Vision camera worth £35 or so, an XBL Headset, Uno (fantastic XBLA title) and Robotron and 200 Live Points (worth £8.50 combined) all in the same box.

The endless trial thing is just a link to a site that is a promo. You enter some code and get a code, you have to reset your cookies everytime. My GF bought one, I could probably get the info off her if you like.
