Downloading PS3 Saves

Hey, just got a PS3 again recently after having one at US launch. At the time I never quite finished Resistence and would like to this time around, cant really be bothered playing it back through from the start and I noticed that a few sites have save files available

Question is, how do you get them recognised by the PS3? I have them on USB stick, and put them in a folder PS3>SAVEDATA but the still dont show.

Also, can you do this with PS2 saves?

And unrelated, is there anything about the PS3 settings etc that I should know? I'm sure I rememeber reading stuff that people were turning on/off that was helping framerates in certain games.

I've used one downloaded save, put it on a USB stick, and copied it to ..... forget now, know it was straightforward enough.

Never heard anything about altering settings for improved performance though.

Try pressing triangle when you highlight the USB device, and I think it should give you an option to View All.

Yeah i tried the triangle button but it only gave me an "information" option.

I got the saves from gamefaqs, anyone got a different source?
