Like you say, it's just a switch, so it might work. The reason is because there's still no actual strict standard relating to 1080p over Component, so nobody wants to guarantee anything.

So has noone tried it with a 1080p signal just to be sure?

Although given its performance even with a 'lowly' 1080i signal, I'd imagine 1080p wouldn't look that hot with it.

As it's translucent, you can see the circuitry and it's pretty basic, so has anyone tried building their own component switcher?

Just got the Farmer YPbPr Power Box. Wii, Xbox and 360 into it and with more than one device plugged in (to the mains) it causes problems. I'm used to unplugging consoles with my setup though so the convenience of the switch rather than having to dislocate my neck getting behind the TV makes up for it.

I did have the picture drop completely whilst testing the Wii though. Hope it's not a dud.

Having read through this thread im left wondering, whats the best Component Switcher?

Im guessing its one of the ones made by Audio Authority, either the 1154A or the 1154B. I know the 1154B supports 1080p, and the 1154A doesnt, but is that the only difference?

Is the 1154B as highly regarded as the 1154A is? I dont seem to be able to find any reviews online

Its AA - it will be excellent. The A is outstanding.

I just got (luckily for me) one of these from fleabay:

Really, good picture quality, though slightly annoyingly, it doesn't switch audio!

The guy spelt "switcher" as swtitcher and I was the only bidder!
