What's the largest HDD I can put into my PS3?

My 60GB getting dangerously low. I want to replace the stock HDD, but I don't know if there is a size limit. Is 320GB compatible?

It's 2.5 SATA that I need too right?

It should be remember hearing it would be able to go upto 1TB but dont think there are 2.5 SATAS that big.
Remember you can use external storage devices too, some people split things between both have a 120GB HD and 60GB external.

Yes, 2.5" SATA. Same as you get in laptops.

I dunno what the maximum is, but I put one of these in my 20GB system ages ago and it's been more than enough and performed without a hitch despite the higher spin speed and bigger cache.
You can get cheaper than that, or a bigger capacity for similar money, but I wanted something quick, plus it's exactly the same brand and model as the factory-fitted one - Seagate Momentus.

The reduction in load times etc was massive since the stock 20GB drive only has a 2MB cache.

I've found a Western Digital 250GB. 5,400 RPM with 8MB cache for under £100 shipped. I'll get that methinks.

Great - I've been worrying about my own rapidly depleting hard space. I don't even have that many games, but they all seem to take 3 or 4 GB to install. Damn glad I didn't opt for the 20GB model when I got it.
